We’ll start by covering all the best food spots on the first and second floors before meandering to the third and fourth floors which are dubbed as the holy land of arcade lovers and video game fanatics.
At the end of the trip, I’ll give you a glimpse into the high-end entertainment lounge of EXSTION on the fifth floor before capping off with a stroll around the 17th floor for some gelato with a view.
First Floor: Premium Steaks, Tacos, Flowers, And More
Before you step inside the building, make sure to turn around and catch a glimpse of the massive Godzilla of Gracery Shinjuku Hotel.
First thing first, the ground floor of Tokyu Kabukicho welcomes you with a tourist center and a range of casual dining spots and Japanese cultural shops for a quick stroll. Here you will find delectable cuisine at Wagyu Burger & World Tacos teaming up with Starbucks Coffee for some tasty light bites.
- Beef Dining and Wagyu Specialty Area:A Wagyu restaurant opened by Pingchengyuan Group, where you can enjoy Japanese Wagyu burgers, Wagyu steak sets and other Wagyu dishes
- KABUKI BURGER&TACOS:A Mexican restaurant where you can enjoy burgers, Mexican side dishes, and the signature must-try “KABUKI BURGER” with a variety of Japanese tempura
- Starbucks:You can enjoy the view of the Kabuki-cho street, and the wall design is also very unique
If you need to store your luggage, you can consult the tourist center on the first floor.
Second Floor: Shinjuku Kabuki Hall – Kabuki Yokocho
The first floor is a great starting point to make your way further afield to explore the upper floors. Now let’s have a look at the second floor where you can immerse into a bustling festive-theme food court.
Kabuki Yokocho, a vibrant food court that embodies the spirit of Kabukicho, the city that never sleeps. It operates nearly 24 hours a day, from 6 am until 5 am the following day. This massive food hall is like a giant pop art masterpiece with flashy neon lights and decadent local bites served up at ten different restaurants.
If you’re on a time-strapped vacation to Japan yet yearning to explore as much of the country’s cuisine as you can, check out Shinjuku Kabuki food court and your delicacy journey is complete. Here you will find an army of national staples brought to you from all regions and prefectures. From Hokkaido to Okinawa, you name it.
On any given sunny day, the food court is packed with diners, locals, and visitors alike, waiting to take over a gigantic seating of 1300 seats in total. On special occasions, music artists and talented DJs flush the central stage with their incredible performances.
Third Floor: namco TOKYO
From the fusion of food to the fusion of games, Tokyu Kabukicho Tower is no short of fun. And right here on the third floor of the building, namco Tokyo takes you back to the good old days with a wide range of thrilling interactive games, machines, epic events, and yummy bites nestled under one roof.
namco TOKYO hosts an extensive series of 250 “gachapon” capsule toys.
One of the coolest things here is this futuristic gachapon machine. It’s like playing a claw machine, but with a twist! Instead of physically grabbing a capsule, you’ll see it happening on the screen. You get to control it by spinning the steering wheel, and the gachapon you land on will drop right out for you.
And the biggest hook here is no other than the One Piece Card Game Official Shop. This one-stop shop is a perfect introduction to those who barely play arcades before.
On the outside, they set up a small collection of One Piece items, game consoles, and canned regional specialties out of its Asobinotes counter.
Knowing many of its customers are night owls, Asobinotes also opens a parfait cafe chain called Parfaiteria Bel.
They’ve got some VR gaming stations here as well.
Fourth Floor: THE TOKYO MATRIX
If namco TOKYO is not enough to unleash your inner adventurer, check out Tokyo Matrix where cutting-edge technology is taken to new heights in the latest VR immersive space. Make sure to come here with your besties to take on a plethora of missions and challenges in a thrilling virtual space.
The scene design immerses you completely in a game-like atmosphere. You grab props, enter your information, and then dive into the maze to tackle challenging puzzles. It’s reminiscent of those classic dungeon-crawling adventure games from the old computer days, where you solve puzzles, battle monsters, and search for treasures. It’s like stepping into a real-life version of a strategic dungeon adventure game.
Fifth Floor: EXSTION
As wellness tourism is on the rise, EXSTION came to life, taking the capital by storm as one of Tokyo’s hottest wellness entertainment facilities. Here you can indulge in a wide range of beauty and health services such as a training gym, a private sauna, a pool, and a restaurant.
17th Floor
Skipping the movie theaters that span from the sixth to the tenth floors, I popped into the 17th floor directly for a look into the sensational JAM 17 Dining & Bar.
Enjoy the bright and spacious atmosphere while treating yourself to some delicious and straightforward ice cream. You can grab your ice cream and savor it by the window, all while taking in the breathtaking scenery of Shinjuku.
JAM 17 is a modern Italian fusion cuisine managed by Hotel Groove Shinjuku, including a rooftop terrace, a party lounge, a dining space, and a bar. If you’re not keen on reserving a seat indoors, it’s still worth it to check out the JAM 17 Gelateria and try one of their yummy house-made gelato made out of fresh ingredients. The gelato bar takes over the entrance of the town’s social hall with a view of the towering skyscrapers of the neighborhood.
Conclusion: Is Tokyu Kabukicho Tower Worth Visiting?
Tokyu Kabukicho Tower is totally worth visiting for travelers of all ages. Steeped in a modern call and cutting-edge technology, Tokyu Kabukicho promises to be your next favorite destination in this sprawling part of Kabukicho other than the nightlife scene. Bring your camera along as there are gonna be lots of photo-ops to enrich your Instagram feed!
