Shibuya Hikarie (澀谷ヒカリエ) is a complex shopping mall operated by Tokyu Department Store. It combines shopping, exhibition spaces, dining, theaters, and office facilities. Since its opening on April 26, 2012, Shibuya Hikarie has become more than just a shopping destination for young people. It is now a place where mature women can purchase trendy fashion brands, groceries, and enjoy Tokyo’s top-notch desserts all in one place. In this article, we will revisit Shibuya Hikarie during the post-pandemic era and introduce some of the best places to visit, especially the “Disney HARVEST MARKET” which opened in 2021.
What does Hikarie mean? Hikari is the Japanese word for “light”, which means that we hope to spread the light of Shibuya to the world.

“Hikarie ShinQs” Dessert Area
When “ShinQs Department Store” opened in “Shibuya Hikarie”, the most popular shop was the dessert shop. If you want to buy desserts, snacks and other souvenirs, head to the food section on the 2nd and 3rd basement floors. There are also many ready-to-eat foods that you can buy and take home on the subway, making it a popular floor for Japanese office workers to visit.
Although most of the main shops are concentrated on B2, there are actually scattered dessert shops on floors B2 to 5. However, due to the pandemic, many dessert shops have already closed down. Here, I will only list the dessert brands that are still in business and well-known:
- 【B2F】Le Chocolat de H: A chocolate specialty store by the Japanese pastry master “Hironobu Tsujiguchi”

“ShinQs” Fashion and Beauty Brand, General Store
The shopping area “Hikarie ShinQs” on floors 1-5 has many clothing stores. As Shibuya Hikarie targets the 20-40 year old mature women as their consumer group, you can find many Japanese-style mature women’s clothing and lifestyle products here.
If you like traditional Japanese crafts and art, you can find many high-quality “MADE IN JAPAN” handmade goods and miscellaneous items, as well as Japanese handicrafts to give as gifts at Hikarie ShinQs on floors 1-5. ▼ The popular Israeli fragrance brand “SABON (1F)” in the global high society circle offers a wide range of products including bath and body care, hand cream, hair conditioner, perfumes, and home fragrances.
Summary
The Shibuya Hikarie is always a great place to visit. Although this time we mainly came to drink coffee at the “Disney HARVEST MARKET”, the Japanese groceries at “ShinQs” department store are still worth browsing. If you are a female between 20-40 years old like me, there are really many good clothes, pajamas, and bags to buy here. Get your credit card ready and go on a shopping spree!
