This time, I stayed at Shinjuku Station for more than a week. Every morning, what Piaor looks forward to the most is to find delicious Tokyo breakfast in Shinjuku Station. The most famous place for Shinjuku breakfast shops is the Shinjuku NEWoMan food court at the south exit of Shinjuku Station!
NEWoMan Food Court has tried every restaurant, and today we want to introduce the “Oyster Bar Wharf”. This seafood restaurant and bar specializes in selling fresh oysters from various regions in Japan, such as Hyogo, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, as well as tuna and sparkling wine or white wine, and Asian beers directly delivered from Wakayama Prefecture. In addition to Chinese cuisine with oysters and seafood set meals, it transforms into a bar at night. Actually, they also sell seafood porridge in the morning!

Oyster Bar Wharf Shinjuku Dining Environment
The NEWoMan Food Hall has many famous restaurants, and the decor of Oyster Bar Wharf is like a bar. Upon closer inspection, you can really feel that Oyster Bar Wharf is from Singapore, because the decor style is almost identical to the bars that Floaty has been to in Singapore (Hotel G Singapore: a budget-friendly, stylish, and artistic hotel where you can drink downstairs). However, this bar is open from 7am until 4am the next day, making it a world-famous Shinjuku with a high flow of people, which is what allows for such a long operating time.
This time, I was arranged to sit on a high stool behind the bar. The service staff will take orders at the table. The menu is very modern, with three simple breakfast porridges listed in English and Japanese. Payment can also be made at the table, just like in Singapore. The staff are not as formal as Japanese servers and have more personality. I like this feeling.
【Breakfast】Xiao Zhu Scallop Congee
The OysterBar wharf breakfast only sells porridge, including the small column scallop porridge with scallops as the main ingredient, and the North Sea snail and fresh shrimp porridge with mixed seafood. The small column scallop porridge is served with baby fish on top and scallops submerged in the porridge. Additionally, celery, sesame, scallions, and fried dough sticks can be paired with the porridge.
Because the color of the scallops is exactly the same as the porridge, it cannot be captured in photos. So, we only have photos of the toppings. The porridge itself is very flavorful, similar to the kind of porridge with a strong Hong Kong flavor and sesame oil that you can find in Hong Kong. It’s not like the porridge in Taiwan, which is more like soup or plain white porridge. However, it’s not too salty to eat. The porridge itself is cooked very soft and tender, and can only be described as the level of porridge served in a five-star hotel. The small column scallop porridge at OysterBar wharf is simply delicious!
【Breakfast】North Sea conch and fresh shrimp porridge
Beihai conch and fresh shrimp porridge is a must-try recommended by Piaor, especially for seafood lovers. The taste of the porridge is not much different from that of Xiaozhu dried scallop porridge, but it has many rich ingredients, including crab meat, fresh shrimp, and raw oysters. All of them are marinated but still retain the freshness and elasticity of the seafood itself. It is fresh and delicious, highly recommended!
I had never heard of Oyster Bar Wharf in Singapore before, and I thought it might not be that great. But it turns out that the truly talented restaurants are the ones that shine in major cities around the world. Although Oyster Bar Wharf is from Singapore and their porridge has a Singaporean flavor, all of their seafood is carefully selected from various regions in Japan, making it fresh and delicious. In addition to their breakfast porridge, their famous oysters are also available in a discounted set during lunchtime!
