It feels unbelievable that one day I could enter Fuji Television Station, but I really did it!!! The headquarters of Fuji Television Station is located in Odaiba, and it is the huge building with an egg-shaped structure between its legs! Although Fuji Television Station is an office building, the first floor lobby, fifth floor, seventh floor, and twenty-fifth floor are open to the public for visiting. Let me take you on a tour, floor by floor!

【Odaiba Fuji Television】Ticket & Opening Hours

  • Address: 2-4-8 Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo
  • Business hours: 10:00~18:00/Gift shops, restaurants, and convenience stores have different business hours (closed on Mondays)

The Fuji Television Building in Odaiba is located between the Yurikamome Line’s “Daiba Station” and the Rinkai Line’s “Tokyo Teleport Station”. It takes about 3 minutes to walk from either station to reach the building.

However, the most popular way to enjoy the area is to take the Yurikamome Line to “Odaiba Kaihin Koen” and visit the “DECKS shopping center” before taking a stroll to Fuji TV and then heading to “Diver City” to see the Gundam.

Introduction to Fuji Television

Fuji Television, which began broadcasting on March 1, 1959, is a well-known television station in Japan and the first to broadcast anime on television. Anime such as “Astro Boy,” “Miss Shellfish,” “Chibi Maruko-chan,” “GeGeGe no Kitaro,” and “Angel” all had extremely high ratings after being broadcast. In recent years, popular anime such as “Dragon Ball,” “ONE PIECE,” and “Urusei Yatsura” have also been broadcast. If you have watched reality shows such as “Love Bus” and “Escape Game,” or Japanese dramas such as “Tokyo Love Story,” “One Liter of Tears,” and “Ooku,” you will know that Fuji Television is quite powerful!

Guide to Visiting Fuji Television Headquarters

On the 1st floor, go to the “Theater Lobby” to see the latest Japanese drama posters → Take the escalator to the 7th floor to buy tickets, then take the elevator to the 25th floor to visit the “Sphere Observation Deck” → Return to the 7th floor to browse the “Fujisan Souvenir Shop” → Visit the “Fuji Television Gallery” on the 5th floor.

The modern Fuji Television headquarters building was moved to its current location in 1997. It features a first-floor theater hall, a fifth-floor Fuji Television Gallery, a seventh-floor Fujisan merchandise store, and a 25th-floor spherical observation deck that is open to the public. Visitors can follow the above order to explore the building.

【Fuji Television 1F】Fuji Television Theater Lobby

We first wandered into the “Fuji TV Theater Lobby” on the 1st floor of Fuji Television, where the latest Japanese drama posters are displayed. Then, we saw the 1:1 scenes and spaces of popular Fuji TV productions. When we visited, we were at the Chuggington store.

There are also shops and spaces based on the long-running Japanese animation “Sazae-san” about the life of a typical Japanese family.

Cherry Little Maruko Cafe (Closed)

In 2017, when you entered the first floor of Fuji Television, you could see this “Chibi Maruko-chan Cafe” and also buy Chibi Maruko-chan peripheral products, but now it has closed.

▼ On the menu, there are Doraemon Family Set and Friends’ Hot Pot, both of which are dishes with character shapes. They are very thoughtful, and the price is around 1000 yen, which is affordable.

Next, you can take the circular escalator outside the TV station to the 7th floor, as the elevators inside the TV station are not accessible!

The buildings in Odaiba are not very tall, but the view from here is so beautiful! You can see the big Ferris wheel in the Palette Town area of Odaiba. Unfortunately, the Ferris wheel will end its operation on August 31, 2022, so this view will only be a memory in the future!

At the Fujisan merchandise store on the seventh floor, the entrance is a statue of One Piece.

The Fujisan merchandise store sells limited edition merchandise for Fuji Television programs, movies, and anime. Currently, the most popular merchandise is for One Piece, so it can be said that it is a One Piece exclusive souvenir shopping street.

25th Floor “Sphere Observatory”

Outside the 7th floor shop is a ticket booth for purchasing tickets to the 25th floor spherical observation deck. If you’re interested, you can buy a ticket and go up to the “HACHITAMA” sphere, which is suspended 100 meters above the ground and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Tokyo Bay. The observation deck is open from 10:00 to 18:00, but I’m not particularly interested in viewing the harbor, and I’ve already been to the Mori Tower to see Tokyo Tower, so I didn’t go up!

5th Floor “Fuji Television Gallery”

After finishing the tour, you can take the escalator to the 5th floor “Fuji TV Gallery”. Here, there are occasional exhibitions of Fuji TV’s hottest programs. If you’re lucky enough to catch a program recording, you can even visit the live studio for free. I heard that my favorite show “Run for Money” is also there, but we didn’t encounter it that day.

Fuji Television Night View

The second time coming to Odaiba was for the annual Odaiba Fireworks Festival. While passing by Fuji Television at night, I also recorded the music and light show outside, but it was actually a bit boring…haha!

▼ As soon as you arrive at “Odaiba Station”, you can see the illuminated performance of Fuji Television at night. Every day from sunset to around 23:00, the building outside the headquarters will be lit up according to a theme, which changes approximately once a month. Themes such as violence against women and preventing child abuse have been featured in the past.

The lighting performance of Fuji TV is accompanied by music, and the theme for December seems to be Christmas. However, there are very few people who really pay attention to the lighting performance, as the crowds are attracted to the street performers on the square.

Visiting Fuji Television Station above is a small scenic spot suitable for passing by for half an hour. Especially for anime fans or Japanese drama fans, walking into Fuji Television Station gives a sacred feeling of pilgrimage!
