Today, we finally arrived at Odaiba, and we’re heading to the DECKS Shopping Center, which is the place that Piao’er wants to visit the most!
Although there are shopping and dining centers like Aqua City and Diver City in Odaiba, the DECKS Shopping Center stands out with its haunted house, “Odaiba Strange School,” and indoor electronic theme park, Tokyo Joypolis. These two attractions alone make it distinct from other malls, leaning more towards entertainment facilities. Plus, with the “Odaiba Ichome Shopping Street” modeled after Japan’s Showa era, the DECKS Shopping Center is definitely the most unique and interesting mall in Odaiba!

The DECKS shopping center in Odaiba is divided into two parts: the DECKS Seaside mall and the DECKS Island mall. Here are some must-visit features of both malls, but since I’m not a big fan of shopping, I’ll mainly introduce the seaside-oriented “DECKS Seaside mall”.
- DECKS Seaside mall (海濱商場): Also known as DECKS Tokyo Beach, it is located by the sea and offers delicious food restaurants such as bills pancakes, the Showa-style Daiba 1-chome shopping street, and Japan’s largest indoor amusement park TOKYO JOYPOLIS.
- DECKS Island mall (海島商場): This building features tax-free shops for electronics, cosmetics, and other shopping, as well as the Daiba Legoland Discovery Center and Madame Tussauds Tokyo.
【DECKS Seaside mall】Tokyo JOYPOLIS
- Address: 1-6-1 Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Tokyo DECKS Tokyo Beach 3F-5F
- Business hours: 10:00~22:00 (last admission 21:15)
DECKS Tokyo Beach (DECKS Seaside mall) 3F-5F is the “Tokyo JOYPOLIS/SEGA TOKYO JOYPOLIS (東京ジョイポリス)” operated by SEGA. There are more than 20 large-scale amusement facilities inside, including thrilling scream series such as “roller coasters”, “music rhythm games”, “adventure shooting games”, and puzzle games that test intelligence. The price for each game is about ¥300-¥800. Float played all day and highly recommends it. It is suitable for couples who want to release stress or have fun together, and parents who bring their children. You can never get enough of it all day long!
Travelogue: 【Tokyo Odaiba】Joypolis Indoor Amusement Park: A Fun and Exciting SEGA Indoor Rainy Day Tourist Spot
Previously, Piao Er had played at a small Joypolis in Osaka Umeda. However, the Joypolis in Tokyo Odaiba is different in that there is an entrance fee of 800 yen and you cannot just go in to visit. Of course, there are also common tickets that allow you to play all the facilities, which are all written on the ticket machine area outside.
【DECKS Seaside mall Food】bills Odaiba Store
True to its name, the world’s best pancakes
After playing at Joypolis indoor amusement park, we were starving. We recommend dining at “bills Odaiba” located on the 3rd floor of the DECKS shopping center in Odaiba. bills has always held the title of the world’s best breakfast and its reputation is well-deserved. After trying bills once, the only way to describe it is that it is really delicious!

【DECKS Seaside mall Must-Visit】Daiba 1-chome Shopping Street
- Business hours: 11:00~21:00
- Admission fee: Free
Next, we go up to the “Odaiba Ichome Shoutengai” on the fourth floor of DECKS. It is designed in a nostalgic retro style from the Showa period in Japan in the 1950s. Early candies, toys, and trains have all been moved here.
The black and white TV drama at that time – Iron Man 28
The first generation Shinkansen – Hikari, began operation in 1964.
Early theaters.
Tokyo Tower is decorated with Christmas decorations.
Welcome to Showa Station
【DECKS Seaside mall Attractions】Haunted House “Daiba Mystery School”
There is a haunted house called “Daiba Mystery School” in the shopping street of Daiba 1-chome. It is a horror adventure house built on the background of an abandoned elementary school 40 years ago. When you enter with a flashlight, you will encounter a hanging boy, a beheaded girl, and various monsters…
DECKS Island mall Attractions
If you are with young children, DECKS Seaside mall may be a bit too high-energy and more suitable for teenagers and adults. You may want to head over to the neighboring DECKS Island mall, which is more of a shopping destination. On the fourth floor, you’ll find “Seimsouya,” which sells baby and children’s products and has more play areas for kids. On the third floor, there’s also Laox, where you can buy tax-free electronics.
Odaiba Legoland
The “LegoLand Discovery Center” located on the 3rd floor of DECKS Island mall has many Lego-themed amusement facilities for children to play with. Although they are all indoors and not as large in scale as other Lego parks, they feature Tokyo landmarks such as Shibuya Crossing, the Statue of Liberty in Odaiba, Tokyo Tower, Skytree, and Sensoji Temple, giving visitors a sense of traveling to Tokyo. Seaside Balcony
The most eye-catching thing on the seaside balcony is undoubtedly the night view. You can enjoy the beautiful view of Tokyo Bay at the seaside deck. When you come at night, there is also the year-round illuminated art installation “YAKEI” at Odaiba Illumination. The “Odaiba Memorial Tree,” which is about 20 meters high and made of real trees, is not only lit up during Christmas but also a major attraction in Odaiba.
At night, dining at DECKS open-air restaurant offers a great atmosphere with a view of the Rainbow Bridge.
DECKS Shopping Center is my favorite shopping center in Odaiba, perhaps because I am a person who completely detaches from consumerism and does not like to buy things! The entertainment facilities here are the main focus, which is more suitable for someone like me who loves to play. If you like to have fun, I recommend coming to DECKS Shopping Center in Odaiba to kill time. I myself have spent half a day here!
