Introduction to GINZA SIX Shopping Mall
Upon entering the large fashion mall GINZA SIX, the central art installation inside the mall is very beautiful. Every season, different artists’ works are exhibited. After experiencing the closure of 22 stores such as Shu Uemura, Shiseido, and KIEHL’S at the end of 2020, GINZA SIX finally reopened after renovation in April 2021. There are now a total of 40 new counters and 8 flagship stores. You can check the latest store information on the official website.

How to Get to Nakamura Tokichi Honten Ginza
- Address: 6-10-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo (4F GINZA SIX)
- Business hours: 10:30~20:30
- Official website
We followed the escalator to the fourth floor, and near the restroom was “Nakamura Tokichi Ginza Store”. The overall decoration is more of a modern Japanese style, which is quite different from the traditional Japanese style of Nakamura Tokichi Main Store in Uji, Kyoto.

Menu and Dish Introduction of Nakamura Fujikichi
After waiting for about 20 minutes during the afternoon tea period, in addition to the standard menu, there is also a limited edition dish introduced at the Ginza store, the “Matcha Buffet (Hyakui)”, which includes matcha powder, chestnuts, matcha filling, white jade, red beans, matcha whipped cream, matcha ice cream, matcha cake, matcha jelly, etc., which is similar to the Matcha Parfait at Tsujiri in Gion.
Thin Tea & Iced Matcha
None of us in our family really like buffets with huge portions, so we decided to order a set with authentic Japanese matcha and tea jelly that our mother could enjoy, as well as a green tea ice cream and matcha and sencha tea swirl ice cream that the older generation prefers.
Thin tea is recommended for those who are really passionate about authentic matcha. If you can handle bitterness well, you can upgrade to thick tea. But for non-matcha lovers, we suggest ordering iced matcha, which is closer to a drink that most people can accept.
Matcha Ice Cream and Matcha Sorbet Combo
The matcha jelly and matcha ice cream combo is simply perfect. For those who can’t finish a buffet but love traditional Japanese snacks, this one is really amazing. The texture of the jelly is great and there’s just enough matcha flavor. You definitely have to add mochi, because Japanese mochi is super delicious and everyone who has tried it will feel that one piece is not enough.
Frosty Ice Cream (Roasted Tea and Matcha Flavors)
As for the center part of the Frosty Ice Cream, Piao Er thinks it’s okay, maybe because she doesn’t love Frosty Ice Cream. The Fried Tea flavor has a slightly sandy texture when eaten, and pure Matcha flavor would be more to my taste. The red beans and white jade that come with it are still perfect!
Nakamura Fujikichi Souvenirs
After the meal, you can stroll to the entrance and find various tea and matcha souvenirs. Basically, everything that can be found in the Uji store can be found here, including various matcha, gyokuro, and sencha tea bags.
You can also buy matcha chocolate, roasted tea chocolate, matcha ice cream, matcha roll cake, matcha mochi and other souvenirs to bring back home.
Nakamura Tokichi is truly the most prestigious Japanese-style matcha restaurant to take your friends to in Japan. Now there is also a branch in Tokyo, so you don’t have to worry about not finding a good matcha restaurant when you come to Tokyo!
