Everland has been in a timeless debate with Lotte World in the race to be the winner of the best amusement park in Seoul. For me, both are lovely to visit. Depending on how many days you have in Seoul and which park is closer to your place, each of them has its own charm with plenty of thrilling rides and educational activities for you to enjoy.
Everland is home to one of the steepest rides in the world, the T-express soaring through a speed of 104 KM/H and at a 77-degree angle. Encompassing a majestic footprint blanketed with five different play zones, Everland is surely a paradise on earth for families with kids and friends alike.
Check out this article to choose the best way to get to Everland, where to buy a ticket, Q-Pass, and what to do in each of the five areas.
How to Get to Everland From Seoul?
By Bus
Take the Public Bus #5002 at Exit 10 of Gangnam Station for an hour. The ride passes 10 different stops before getting to the station. Get off and switch to the free shuttle bus heading towards Everland in the next 5 minutes.
By Subway
Get on the subway from Seoul to Giheung Station and switch to the Yongin EverLine to Jeondae Everland Station in about half an hour. Get off and head out of Exit 3 and take the free shuttle to Everland in the next 5 minutes.
By Shuttle Bus
This is my favorite way to get to Everland from Seoul as it’s fast and pretty straightforward. All you need to do is book a package online that includes a round trip that shuttles between Everland and north or south Seoul.
The bus ride is about an hour to 90 minutes. Depending on where you’re located and which package you choose, there are different pick-up/depart locations such as Myeongdong Station, Hongik Station, Seoul Station, and other places.
Ticket To Everland: Where to Find the Best Price?
The on-site ticket booth usually witnesses an insane queue on any given sunny day. Online tickets allow you to ditch the queue. Show the QR code when you get to the gate for scanning before entering.
My favorite package will include the entrance and pick-up with a local guide. They will help you scan the code and instruct you how to make the most of each area with your time so you don’t have to arrange anything by yourself.
Everland Q-Pass: Is It Really Worth It?
Everland Q-Pass comes into play if you want to enjoy more than eight or ten rides. The pass is initiated to cut queue times and provide you with direct access to T-Express, Amazon Express, Lost Valley, and Safari World. Otherwise, the Q-Pass is not needed if you only want to try four to five rides that day.
What to Do at Everland: A Sample Itinerary
Global Fair
Upon your entry into Everland, you will see the Global Fair first. This is where you find all the souvenir shops and dining holes. I recommend saving this spot for last before you leave so you don’t have to waste too much time in the beginning just for shopping.
During Halloween, the Global Fair immerses into a cute and spooky atmosphere with plenty of setups all over the place.
Zootopia
From there, ride a cable car downhill to Zootopia. It includes multiple smaller zones such as the Safari World (my favorite). Thanks to the Q-Pass, I didn’t have to wait that long to get in. Once you’re in, ride an electric cart around to see the carnivorous animals.
They will put you inside an iron “cage”, sneaking around the forests and watching lions, hyenas, black bears, and tigers wandering around.
Other than that, the Lost Canyon is also worth visiting. This wildlife zone is dedicated to herbivorous animals such as camels, elephants, rhinos, antelopes, zebras, and giraffes.
European Adventure
Located within the same area as Zootopia, European Adventure can also be reached via the cable car downhill from the Magic Land and American Adventure uphill.
The biggest hook at European Adventure is the wooden roller coaster, thrusting to a whopping height of 70 meters before rushing down. It’s made entirely from wood and is dubbed the fastest, highest, and steepest roller coaster in South Korea.
My next favorite spot to see is the European Garden. It transports you back to a whimsical countryside that seems as if it’s stepping out of a post stamp.
Magic Land
As soon as I got to Magic Land, it was already 5 pm. With such a short amount of time, I couldn’t manage to see much of it. But as you can see, Magic Land is the kids’ favorite. It’s filled with thrilling rides such as the Columbus Expedition: Pirate Ship and roller coaster.
American Adventure
American Adventure is home to kid-friendly activities such as helicopter rides and bouncing cars. Sandwiched between Magic Land and American Adventure is the photogenic Aesop Village featuring a colorful umbrella-shaded route.
I recommend getting to Everland as early as possible to make the most of each zone without rushing. Get straight to the foot of the mountain first to explore Zootopia and European Adventure before riding the cable car back up for American Adventure, Magic Land, and some pleasant shopping time at the Global Fair.
