Dress Code
You’re going to the mountain so make sure to layer up. Keep it airy and light during the day but bring a jacket to avoid sudden temperature drop-down when it’s past sunset. Rains may come unexpectedly at some points in the day while the surrounding forest remains foggy all day long. For that reason, a raincoat will come in handy!
If you visit Ba Na Hills from April to August, it’s hot with the temperature hovering as high as 35 degrees.
From September to January, it’s rainy. The temperature drops, so bring warm clothes. It might rain a lot from October to December. That’s when you get those cool foggy photos you see online.
How To Get To Ba Na Hills From Da Nang?
By Rental Motorbike
This is the fastest way to reach Ba Na Hills by yourself, taking about half an hour. Otherwise, hail a taxi or Grab car which shortens the ride to 20 minutes if the traffic is clear.
Leave your vehicles at the parking lot and walk to the main gate. From there, the ticket office is a few meters behind it. The on-site ticket windows are usually packed with visitors and the fare is a tad more expensive than online tickets.
If you’ve obtained online tickets, make sure to ask for directions so the staff can direct you to the right window that doesn’t require queues.
By Shuttle Bus
If your online ticket includes a round-trip shuttle ride, double-check the pick-up time and venue to make sure you won’t be running late. You’ll be required to be present 15 minutes in advance to board the shuttle.
Alternatively, you can also book a separate shuttle ticket at around VND 220,000/person.
Ba Na Hills Cable Car + Tourist Map: The Routes
Home of the world’s longest single-wire system that stretches for 5,772 meters, Ba Na Hills boasts five different routes:
- Ba Na – Suối Mơ
- Debay – Morin
- Tóc Tiên Waterfall – L’Indochine
- Hoian – Marseille
- Bordeaux – Louvre.
The five cable car routes connect four areas:
- Mountain Base: Ticket offices, souvenir shops and restaurants, Suối Mơ Station.
- Ba Na Station: Ling Ứng Pagoda, The Buddha, Doumer restaurant, Debay bar, and wine cellar.
- Morin Station: food spots, Fantasy Park, the French Village, and hotel lodging.
- Ba Na Peak: Lĩnh Chúa Linh Từ Temple, Trú Vũ Tea House, the Bell Tower.
One of the coolest things about riding the cable car is to feel the transition in temperature. The first ride up from the mountain base is pretty long so make sure you come prepared. The foggy sky makes it a lot more dreamy but the sudden change in elevation may leave you with altitude sickness.
Things To See And Do
Golden Bridge
The most talked-about attraction in all of Ba Na, the Golden Bridge juts out from a giant pair of colossal hands, hanging by the cliff like a delicate ribbon. The structure cradles the bridge at a dizzying height of 1,400 meters, adorned with enchanting moss amidst the foggy sky.
French Village
Exuding a charming European ambiance, the village is peppered with ancient-like, romantic buildings that transport you to a bygone era. Taking a leisurely stroll through the village reveals grand squares, quaint streets, elegant churches, and majestic castles, and immerse yourself into a dreamy, romantic atmosphere.
Le Jardin D’Amour
Get your camera ready as this picturesque garden is about to send you to a fairy tale. The garden is home to nine inviting themes that are incredibly spacious and may take over half an hour to explore.
Debay Wine Cellar
Put your jacket on if you desire a look inside! Built by the French in 1923, the Debay Wine Cellar remains a consistent temperature between 16 to 20 degrees hidden at 100 meters underground.
You can also try delicious European dishes or pick out thoughtful souvenirs for your loved ones.
Linh Ung Pagoda & The Buddha
Here comes another cloud-hunting spot in the park! This is one of the three namesake Buddhist temples situated at three positions forming a tripod to support Danang. The two other shrines are located on the Marble Mountains and Son Tra Peninsula.
Moon Castle
The majestic castle juts out from the south side of the park, right behind the Ravenstone Castle. It mimics one that was built on Dragon Cave which is believed to be the home of fire dragons.
Encompassing 38,000 square meters of footprint, the Moon Castle is split into four unique themed floors. You shall find about two 4D theaters inside to spend some quality family time as well.
Fantasy Park
This is hands down one of the most popular spots at Ba Na, dubbed the biggest one of its kind in Vietnam. The park boasts over 100 games with various levels of difficulty waiting for you to explore. About 90 games are included in the entrance ticket.
Ride The Funicular
Not into spine-tingling rides?
Well, it’s time to immerse into the vast landscape on this scenic funicular if you don’t wanna scream your hearts out!
You will travel through the mountain range on Vietnam’s first funicular tour, and admire the panoramic view of primeval forests. The train will take you to Le Jardin d’Amour flower garden, Debay wine cellar, the Big Buddha statue, and Linh Ứng Pagoda.
French Village
The French Village is the final stop in the park, perched on top of the mountain. It embodies a rich European flare that resembles the dreamy Paris of France. You’ll find towering spires and peaceful castles scattered through seven different areas.
Is Ba Na Hills Worth Visiting?
Ba Na Hills Amusement Park is entertaining. Imagine a huge complex shining its torch in Insta-worthy spots and vast landscapes rather than roller coasters or Disney-style rides.
Lots of people come mainly for the Golden Bridge, the festivals, and the French Village. It would be nice to tick off this place if you’re off to Danang for the first time with your family or kids.
Ba Na Hills Amusement Park is kind of odd, but it might give you a cool new profile picture.
