Do You Need Reservations For Tichuca?
Tichuca accepts reservations only at a certain time frame from 17:00 to 19:00 and is limited to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday while Friday and Saturday it operates on a walk-in basis.
Note that reservations can only be made for the current month, and table allocations are subject to daily availability.
Late arrivals risk losing their reservation after a 15-minute grace period.
Groups failing to reach 80% of the confirmed number within 30 minutes may have their table reassigned.
Tichuca At A Glance: Seating
Despite the hidden location, you won’t have a hard time identifying the entrance. Look for the office building’s sensor gates with “TICHUCA” signage. The staff will guide you before the door opens. Note: On special occasions like New Year’s Eve or Christmas, admission fees (starting at THB 800) may apply for on-site drinks.
As soon as the elevator opens, you’ll immediately spot the expansive Jellyfish Bar which boasts the most extensive area. This seating is priced differently compared to the rest of the space, requiring you to order at least a glass of wine as soon as you’re seated.
Initially, while seats may seem available, choice diminishes after nightfall due to increased demand.
The bar is spacious with various seating types. You can choose to wind down under the Jellyfish area, loop around the four-person tables, or kick back at one of the eight-person sofas offering a scenic view of Bangkok.
The Beverages
The alcohol options at Tichuca are filtered down to gin, vodka, whiskey, champagne, sparkling wine, red wine, and liquor.
The price ranges between THB 400 to 500, which is reasonable for a high-altitude bar in major Asian cities. Bottles are priced between THB 3,000 to 42,000. The most expensive calls are Single Malt.
While the variety is good, the options for cocktails are somewhat limited, with the Long Island ice tea being the highlight.
Good to know: Drinks can be ordered in advance and the seats are held for only 15 minutes if you wanna roam free for pictures. Otherwise, your spots may be assigned to others.
Speaking of tasting profiles, the cocktails here are somewhat watered down so keep it in mind if intensity and sharply-defined flavors are what your heart’s after.
The View
Accessing the second and third floors reveals a panoramic 360-degree view of Bangkok. Seats are high bar counters with no reservations, allowing others to take your place when you leave. This offers an open view but might attract other tourists behind you, vying for photos.
From 18:30, the bar fills up, especially for photos with the mesmerizing jellyfish lighting up. By 19:00, the atmosphere turns enchanting as the jellyfish illuminates, akin to being underwater.
If you fancy a serene ambiance, make sure to steal your spot between 17:00 and 19:00. As night falls, the space becomes crowded, akin to a bustling market, prompting us to depart around that time.
Final Words: Is Tichuca Worth Visiting?
Tichuca surely satisfies a thirsty eye for the view. When the weather is crisp, it boasts some of the most incredible scenes for sunset. With the enchanting ambiance and mood lighting setting the tone, you’re guaranteed a whale of a time.
The stunning transformation of the Jellyfish Bar with the sunset and lights makes this timeframe particularly appealing. However, after dark, it gets crowded, resembling a bustling market rather than a tranquil bar experience.
