The BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE Shibuya store is not far from Shibuya Station and is the first park store of Blue Bottle Coffee in Japan. The two-story building, floor-to-ceiling windows, and special design make the Shibuya store beautiful and full of Tokyo life. Especially since the Shibuya store opens at 8 am and has a rich selection of items on the Shibuya limited menu, it is a great place to have breakfast or brunch in Tokyo without any time restrictions. Come to Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya store!
The Blue Bottle Coffee, which has always been popular with the public, has opened a new store! The new store is located in the Rikugien Park in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is the first park coffee shop of Blue Bottle Coffee in the world. The store has two floors of space, where you can sip coffee while overlooking the green scenery and performances outside. 【Blue Bottle Coffee Tokyo Shibuya Store】Park Environment
Although there are many excellent independent coffee shops and tea houses in Japan, when it comes to multinational chain brands, I appreciate the design of BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE in terms of store appearance, packaging, and visual elements. They also offer various menu items at each location or for a limited time, which may not suit everyone’s taste preferences and can be relatively expensive, but they pay great attention to every aspect of the market, making people unconsciously want to visit their stores.
The Beibu Park used to be an ordinary green space by the roadside. After reconstruction this year, it is open to the public again. The Blue Bottle Coffee has opened a brand new store here, which is only a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station, very convenient. Although it is currently not possible to travel abroad due to the epidemic, you can add this place to your future visit list. The Blue Bottle Coffee Tokyo Shibuya store officially opened on April 28, 2021.
The Japanese information magazine “Tokyo ’23-24” was placed in the suitcase and brought to Tokyo. When flipping through the introduction, I learned that BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE opened its first park store in Shibuya, Tokyo, and also launched some Shibuya store-exclusive menus.
If you need a coffee shop that is open all day, why not try the Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya store which happened to be available after checking out of the hotel one day!
Strolling leisurely from Shibuya Station, I found that the location of Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya is inside the small Kitaya Park.
The Blue Bottle Coffee menu provides thoughtful Japanese and English versions. The limited menu items at the Shibuya store include lemon scones and caramel cheesecake, and the official website also releases seasonal items unique to certain branches.
Shibuya store limited menu: Shibuya Cafe | Blue Bottle Coffee Official Website (please click on “メニュー” inside the webpage, which means MENU, to see the names, prices, and descriptions of food and drinks. The first page is in Japanese, but you can scroll down to see the English menu). You can use the same method to check the menu of other Blue Bottle Coffee branches.
“Brick Cheesecake”, “LEMON and BUTTER WAFFLE PLATE”, and red and white wine are all exclusive to Shibuya.
Aside from the classic hand-brewed Blue Bottle coffee, the café also offers all-day breakfast with fragrant hot pancakes, seasonal vegetables and egg dishes, as well as a brick cheese cake inspired by the café’s brown ceramic tiles. Sweet treats include Pavlova made with meringue and a base of crispy egg whites. Additionally, the café serves wine, Blue Bottle coffee light beer, and appetizers, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a drink in the evening.
【Blue Bottle Coffee Tokyo Shibuya Store】2nd Floor Space
The Shibuya store is specially invited, and the designer and his eponymous architectural firm, Rokkaku Keiji, who also designed the Blue Bottle Coffee Yokohama Port Future Store, completed the project in April 2021 and opened at the end of the same month.
The Blue Bottle Coffee Tokyo Shibuya store is designed by Keiji Ashizawa Design. The team used a lot of brown tiles on the counter on the first floor and the walls on the second floor, creating a perfect atmosphere that blends into the park. There are 10 seats on the first floor and 33 seats on the second floor. The store uses curved wooden chairs made by Japanese Karimoku furniture, allowing every customer to sit comfortably and enjoy their coffee. In addition, there are large floor-to-ceiling windows on both the first and second floors, providing a view of the greenery outside and allowing the sunlight to shine in. There is also an outdoor seating area in the park, allowing people to enjoy their coffee in a natural environment.
The Shibuya store has two floors and is independent. There are many floor-to-ceiling windows on both floors, and the view from the store is the tree scenery of Kitagaya Park in Shibuya.
【Blue Bottle Coffee Shibuya, Tokyo】Surrounding Products
The first floor is mainly for selling and ordering goods, and there are seats designed for the nearby park. I stayed here to have hot pancakes for breakfast and waited until noon. I saw a food truck parked in the adjacent empty space, and nearby office workers came to buy lunch one after another. I really like this kind of daily scene.
On the wall, there are many peripheral products related to blue bottle coffee, such as coffee beans, coffee utensils, bottled coffee concentrate, coffee brewing bags, tote bags, notebooks, and also a collaboration with “Toshoan,” which has been in business for over 60 years at Horikawa Sanjo in Kyoto, to launch a type of sweet called “yokan” with basic red bean and matcha flavors, and different flavors according to the season, such as chocolate and Stollen.
Because the packaging of the sweet bean jelly is beautiful and has a long shelf life (valid for one year from the date of manufacture), it can be used as a souvenir.
